The RA

This was the end of my second day of the RA, Representative Assembly.  I think my highlight today might have been the speech of Vice-President Joe Biden.  We had to wait over 2 hours in order to get through the metal detectors and secret service. It was incredible and tiring.  I only saw one person get led away in handcuffs.  Silly teachers.

His speech was so good.  He is a great speaker, but it felt so good to be validated for being a teacher.  He also spoke about the Republicans in office now.  Called them good people who just don't see things the same way we do.  If I can find the address, I will post it here.  One stat I remember and feel I should share is based on the change in economics.  The top 1% rich in the world account for 24% (I think this was the number) of the money used in the US.  That's nuts.  Now the republicans are looking for ways to decrease the taxes for this set of people.  Really?  Why?
